1. Number 1 Tip is to get your Business Computer Files Organized on your Desktop or Lap Top Computer
Running a small business will run so much smoother if you have an organized system in place on your computer that way you can easily find your favorite bookmarked websites that you use daily to run your business. Also having folders on your desktop for your word documents and images will greatly help you to stay organized!
For example, I have tons of bookmarked websites that I use daily to run my website design business and I have them all organized into folders with names such as:
Wix (For Wix help pages and editing my clients' websites, etc.)
Payments (For PayPal website links and other payment links)
eBay (For my eBay Store)
Etsy (For my Etsy Shop)
Gmail (For my email account)
Google (For Google Search, Google Analytics, Google Business, etc.)
Yahoo (For Yahoo Search, Yelp Pages, etc.)
Bing (For Bing Search Engine, Bing Ads, etc.)
Personal Files (For my bills and other websites that are not business related)
and so on
Please watch this short video on "How to Bookmark Websites on Google Chrome". I highly recommend Google Chrome because it is the fastest web browser. I also highly recommend C Cleaner to keep your computer clean and running fast. Lastly, I highly recommend Malware Bytes to keep your computer free from malware!
*IMPORTANT NOTE: Please make sure that you are only using 1 anti-virus program such as AVG or Windows Defender because using more than 1 can make your computer vulnerable to viruses. I personally use Windows Defender and LOVE it!
I also have my important websites and apps that I use daily pinned to my task bar on my desktop computer that way I can simply click on them to open them up. I also have my Facebook Messenger and Phone Text Messages notifications pinned to my task bar that way I can easily send and receive texts to my clients and family as well. BACK TO THE TOP
When I first start on a client’s new website design project, I send them a small design questionnaire to get their design ideas. I also help my clients to choose a good business name with their main keywords in them if they do not already have a business name. *REMEMBER: Search engines LOVE keywords!!! I always recommend that a business name be 3 words or less. (3 words being the most common) It is best to have a short business name because it will make it much easier for people to remember. *For example, let’s say that you sell primarily “Gold Bracelets”. In this case, I would highly recommend you use a website name such as the following:
LuxuriousGoldBracelets.com GenuineGoldBracelets.com or
You can put your name with your business name like I have done with mine. For example, let’s say the owner’s name is Mike. In this case, his business name would be “MikesGoldBracelets.com”.
Adding your first name to your business also makes your business sound even more personal and professional. It is totally up to you on what you will choose for your business name. I am always here to help you with those small, but major details.
Also if you can’t find a .com domain name with your keywords in it, you can always try to get a .net domain name which .com is the most popular.

Having a matching email address that matches your website domain name is crucial to your ULTIMATE Success! it sounds way more professional than using an email address like hero1976@yahoo. Also having a custom email address lets your potential clients know that you are a serious seller.
I can add a custom email address to your website. You can also have all of your business emails forwarded to your personal email address if you like. It is totally up to you. At the time that I wrote this blog, I myself, am using Gmail, but I do have my business name on it, however I am seriously thinking of getting a more professional sounding email with my actual domain name. I used to have one, but I had to change over to Gmail because I was using Microsoft Outlook and I was getting way to much spam, but through Wix, having a custom email address is much more secure.
After I have all of the important details listed above for your website design project, That is when the real FUN and Designing begins!
I LOVE using Stock Photos on my custom website designs because it makes a website look very professional!

I am more than happy to also choose your Stock Photo to use on your website. This photo will be the main focus of your website and it should reflect what you are selling.
Your Stock Photo that you choose will also determine the main colors for your website. If you want a bright and colorful website, then it is best to select those same colors with your Stock Photo.
Once you have selected a Stock Photo to use on your new website design, I will create a custom logo design with text, color, and sometimes I will add a cool shape to the design. Your logo design will appear over your stock photo that you chose. I will also place your new logo design at the main top of your website for everyone to see as soon as they come to your website. Sometimes I will also add a small slogan on your logo design that will attract the attention of your visitors and give them a very good idea of what your website is all about. It is best to put the most crucial information about your website at the main top of it along with your logo design because visitors will decide in 7 seconds or less if they want to do business with you based on what is shown on your logo design. I always make sure that I put all of the important information on your logo / banner design because of this very reason.
Once I have designed your logo design, I will start working on the layout of your website pages. Every website page that I make for you will have the same header and footer to keep the design consistent throughout.
I will add different text, links, and images to the BODY of each website page. Having text, links, and images on each page is crucial to your success because that is what Google, Yahoo, and Bing are looking for when they crawl your website. Search engines crawl your pages meaning they scan your pages to find out what your website is all about, so they can list your website correctly onto their search engine. It is really that simple, but it does take a lot of hard work on my part, but I am so happy to do it for you because I want you to be SUCCESSFUL!
I am not happy, unless I make your website look very professional and have all of the important text, links, images, and keywords on your website pages for the search engines to list your site on their search engines correctly.
Content for your website is so important for those visiting your site and also for search engines to place your website in their search engines. Adding heading tags, call-to-action buttons, text, text links, and images are crucial to your success! I will take care of all of all of this for you!
With your design questionnaire, I will be able to get most of the content for your website based on what you tell me about your business. With your questionnaire, I will give you an example of what you can say for your Home Page and About Page. You would simply edit the text & email it back to me. I make the entire process very easy for you & me!
*PLEASE NOTE: It is very important for me to get your design questionnaire in as soon as possible that way there will be no delay in getting your website custom designed.
After you place your order, I would email the questionnaire to you on a Microsoft Word Document or inside of an email, then you would simply fill it out by typing on it, saving it on your computer, and emailing it back to me. It is that simple!
It also a great idea to review your website at least once a month to see if there are any text or image changes that need to be done. I can edit your site for you too.
I will add Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to your website pages internally and on the page itself with unique content, meta tags, internal links, header tags, ALT image tags, keywords, text links, and so much more!
This takes SEO expertise and knowledge to do it right and I will do this for you with all of my Website Design packages because I want search engines to find you and they will find you with my help!
After I have completed the entire layout of your new website and added all of your SEO to your website for search engine optimization, I will add your Social Media links to your website that way your visitors can easily find your business online and LIKE your Fan Page, so they can follow you because down the road, even if they do not buy from you today, you may still be able to reel them in by making posts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and YouTube.
Having Social Media Websites is CRUCIAL to your success! Each Social Media Website should also be named the same as your website name and also have your logo uploaded to each site. You will need to manually submit your website URL link and site map to Google and Bing. Bing will automatically submit your links to Yahoo for you.
I actually submit all of the websites to search engines that I custom design, so if you are my client, you will not have to worry about doing this. I got you covered! To submit your website to Google, Yahoo, and Bing, please go to the links below:
Google Search Console (on the drop down window on the upper left hand side of your computer screen, select ADD PROPERTIES and enter your website domain name.)
Bing Webmaster Tools (on the drop down window on the upper left hand side of your computer screen select ADD SITE and enter your website domain name.)
*PLEASE NOTE: If you have added any new website pages or made any major updates to existing pages, you will need to submit those links again to Google and Bing. Your website URL link will look like this https://www.YourDomainName.com With Wix, you have 2 site maps to submit and they will look like this. https://www.YourDomainName.com/pages-sitemap.xml
https://www.YourDomainName.com/sitemap.xml
You can also remove links from Google, Yahoo, and Bing search engines, but WHY would you want to do that you might be thinking? The reason that you would want to remove URL links from search engines would be for broken links to old pages that are no longer active on your website. You don't won't broken links on search engines because it can negatively affect your search engine rankings and also your customer's overall experience. Not to mention, it can ruin one's trustworthiness and authority as a serious online business. For example, If someone clicks on 1 of your links listed on Google, Yahoo, or Bing and the link goes to a "404 Page Not Found". That is a BIG no no! If you are having this problem, I can fix this for you. Please contact me.
Not only do you need to submit your website to Google, Yahoo, and Bing, but alternative search engines also need to hear about your site. I love using Pingler just for this reason.
With your NEW Wix Website online for the entire world to see, it is time for you to promote it! Your amazing design has no impact if people don’t visit it. You can drive traffic to your website by optimizing it for search engines and print advertising to name a few, however promoting it online in the digital online world is also very important! I achieve this for all of my clients by promoting them on their Social Media sites and also promoting them on mine as well.
Blogs are an exceptional way to create NEW content on your website because after all, our main goal is to attract search engines and also customers. This clever tactic will do both!
*REMEMBER: Search Engines LOVE new content and search engines will rank your website HIGHER organically in search engines if you give them this NEW content on a regular basis! Ranking organically simply means that your website is listed on search engines naturally. You didn’t pay to be listed on the search engine through a Google Ad for example.
If you can post just 1 NEW blog per week, it will definitely help!
If you have more time on your hands and can write short blogs every day is even better!

Another great way, to get more traffic and sales to your website is by allowing me to set up a Custom Email Marketing Campaign and an Email Newsletter Subscribe Form that way you will be able to collect more email subscribers to market to in the future. You can also use your email template over and over for different email campaigns.
Sending at least 1 email per month to your subscribers is a great way to keep potential customers interested in you and hopefully, by doing so, you will be able to convert those potential customers into BUYING CUSTOMERS! Also sending 1 email per month helps your potential customer to not feel like you are spamming them which is very important!
You can send emails directly through Wix or you can use Mail Chimp which is FREE!
With your Email Campaigns, you can write about the products that you sell, promote a new product, give a review on a product, etc. Your MAIN GOAL here is to tell your potential customers WHY you LOVE your products and WHY they need them! If you can solve a problem in a potential customer's life, then you have them SOLD on your products! It really is that easy! You have to show them that your products are valuable to them and that they can't live without them!
Custom Business Cards, Flyers, and Thank You Cards are an excellent way to promote your business! I can make any print design that you need! I can even put a QR Code onto your design & when someone scans the QR Code with their phone, they will directed straight to your site! You can put a business card, thank you card, and/or flyer in with every order that way your customer will be able to have something tangible that will show them what you have to offer and allows them to easily come back to you website for more! Please scan my QR Code below with your phone and see what happens! It is really cool!!! You may need to get a QR Code Scanner from the Google or Apple App Store.
Whenever you are out and about at the bank, grocery store, etc. you can always strike up a conversation with anyone and give them your business card. This is exactly what I do and it works!
You can also buy pay-per-click ads for only a few cents per ad with Google, Bing,
Facebook, and Instagram etc. Pay-per-click ads are very short text ads with a link back to your website. You are not charged for the ads, unless someone actually clicks the ad.
The next time you search on Google, pay close attention to the ads at the main top of
the search engine results. You will see the word “Ad” and that is how you know that the business actually paid to be there. All of the organic search engine results will appear below the paid ads.

Microsoft Ads (formerly known as Bing Ads)
Another great way to promote your business is on YouTube with a professional video that shows your logo design and products that you sell. I can do this for you too! I will add a professional logo design to your video along with audio, images, and/or video.

With Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools, you can track how many visitors that you are getting to your website for FREE and also find out which pages are getting the most traffic or the least traffic, so you can edit those less traffic pages to make them perform better by adding more keywords to the page. Three of the best ways to keep people coming back to your website is by creating NEW content through blog writing, also by sending out email campaigns, and promoting your website on social media!
